Native Foods Earns Blue Zones Project Palm Springs Approval, Celebrates with Earth Day-inspired Blue Ribbon Event
Palm Springs, CA (April 16, 2026) — Blue Zones Project Palm Springs is proud to announce that Native Foods has officially been designated as an approved restaurant, recognizing its commitment to making healthier choices easier for the community.
To celebrate this milestone, Native Foods will host a festive Blue Ribbon Celebration on Earth Day, April 22, 10am – 11am, bringing together community members, plant-based food lovers, and well-being champions for a party with a purpose.
Known as one of the desert’s favorite plant-based dining destinations, Native Foods has long been celebrated for its crave-worthy vegan comfort food and dedication to better-for-you ingredients. Through its partnership with Blue Zones Project Palm Springs, the restaurant has taken additional steps to align its menu and environment with evidence-based principles that support longer, healthier lives.
“Native Foods represents the kind of leadership we’re proud to celebrate in Palm Springs,” said Naomi Soto, Mayor of Palm Springs. “By making plant-based, nutritious meals more accessible and appealing, they’re helping build a healthier, more vibrant community for residents and visitors alike.”
“When restaurants like Native Foods commit to well-being, it creates a ripple effect across the entire community,” said Mihai Patru, Executive Director of Blue Zones Project Palm Springs. “Their focus on plant-forward options and local sourcing aligns perfectly with our mission to make the healthy choice the easy choice.”
“Native Foods has been a cornerstone of the Palm Springs dining scene since opening in 1994 as the original plant-based restaurant in the community,” said owners Misti Rausch and Sean Reynolds. “Under our ownership, we’ve worked to bring back everything people first loved about Native Foods while introducing new, exciting menu items and ingredients. Partnering with local farms like Aziz Farms allows us to serve fresh, high-quality produce while supporting our local food system—and we’re honored to be recognized by Blue Zones Project Palm Springs for that commitment and more.”
